AGT Productions
American Globe Theatre's 2008/2009 Season
As we enter our third decade as Times Square's longest-running classical theatre, we celebrate our own longevity with the histories of William Shakespeare. We open our 20th season with a series of staged readings, culminating with a mainstage production of "Henry V" in the Spring. Our Shakespeare for Schools program consists of residencies and a tour of "Romeo & Juliet". Additionally, we will partner with a NYC public school to offer our groundbreaking Shakespeare After-School. We close our 20th season with the widely popular 15 Minute Play Festival.

HENRY V (full production) by William Shakespeare
Directed by Author and Artistic Director, John Basil
We celebrate our own longevity by tackling a history for the first time. This raw, high energy production features Dennis Turney as King Hal (winner of a 2000 OOBR award for HAMLET). Our attention is on speaking the text and telling one of the greatest stories in Shakespeare's canon.
Known as the "people's king" this play focuses on a young king who must learn to leave his idle pursuits behind to lead the English army to victory over France. This commentary on war not only follows Henry's efforts to unite the armies of Britain through his inspirational leadership but also observes the difficult and often damaging decisions one must make during war.
